Lindholmen forms part of Vision Älvstaden. Together with the City of Gothenburg administration, trade and industry, we’re creating an inclusive, green and dynamic inner city centred on the river.
The rapidly growing number of people living, working, studying and conducting research on Lindholmen results in a lot of building where everything is characterised by climate-aware solutions. The consortium works jointly to achieve social, ecological and economic sustainability. Around 700 homes will be built in Lindholmshamnen along with a preschool, a number of commercial premises and new parks. This is, in other words, a big project. Which is why a number of property developers are planning and creating the new Lindholmshamnen together.
HSB
The Blanka housing cooperative consists of 122 tenant-owned homes from studio flats to four-bedroom properties. Innovative architecture in the four buildings that constitute Blanka go hand-in-hand with the neighbourhood’s cosmopolitan atmosphere. The project is the work of Wingårdhs Arkitekter. Blanka is built according to Nordic Swan guidelines. Occupancy is scheduled for 2021. Learn more
PEAB
The Lindholmsvarvet housing cooperative is a leading-edge project in terms of the environment and its choice of materials, and whose architecture blends in with the neighbourhood’s waterfront character. Solar cells, flexible waste sorting and sedum roofs that clean and slow rainwater run-off are a few examples. All 129 apartments will be built according to Nordic Swan guidelines. Occupancy will begin during the autumn, 2020.
RIKSBYGGEN
Riksbyggen will be erecting homes in Lindholmshamnen aimed at making it easier for young adults to gain entry to the housing market. For example, Riksbyggen will for the first time build cooperative tenant-owned apartments for young adults where the residents themselves own the property.
In all, the quarter will comprise 197 homes and a number of commercial premises. Learn more
SKANSKA
The Lindholmspiren housing cooperative is a dynamic quarter with Nordic Swan buildings of which one is no fewer than 16 stories high offering fabulous views across the river and city. The other buildings vary in height from 3 to 8 stories. We have also built a preschool in one of the buildings. Learn more
ÄLVSTRANDEN UTVECKLING
Property management company Älvstranden Utveckling is a catalyst in the Lindholmshamnen planning and development process. The assignment involves streamlining collaboration between the parties and the municipality’s collaborative bodies. Among other things, this means the company acts as coordinator between the City of Gothenburg’s district administrators and as a representative in the municipal planning process. Learn more

Design interpretation
The purpose of the design interpretation programme is to define Lindholmshamnen’s common identity and safeguard the quality level of design and its execution in the public environment, squares and buildings. Its guidelines were created jointly by the consortium.
